Amy Chesnutt is an experienced litigator practising in family/relationship property law and handling Māori legal issues, representing clients at first instance and on appeal. After practising in Queensland for several years, she returned to join Dixon & Co Lawyers in 2020 to help build the firm’s family law practice. Amy is an active member of Te Kōmiti-Ture-a Whānau, the family law committee of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa, and shares a co-opted position on the National Executive of the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.

Caro is an employment law expert. She helps individual senior leaders and executives when they’re facing employment law concerns. Caro is regularly appointed as an independent investigator for workplace matters and workplace cultural reviews. She has investigated a wide range of issues, including workplace bullying and sexual harassment. Caro has a special interest and strong background in human rights issues that arise in employment. In addition to her specialist employment law experience, Caro also has a wealth of civil litigation and family law experience, which means she is able to see the broader business and personal implications of employment-related matters, and is also able to see matters through litigation if early resolution is not achievable.

Kelly Dixon has almost 20 years’ experience and has appeared in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court on judicial review proceedings, in the District Court on commercial summary judgment proceedings, before the Employment Relations Authority and in the Māori Land Court and before the Waitangi Tribunal on behalf of various Treaty of Waitangi claimants. Kelly works with clients from across the North Island; she has appeared before the Waitangi Tribunal in the Wairarapa, East Coast, National Park, Whanganui and Northland historic inquiries and various urgency applications and kaupapa inquiries and remedies hearings before the Waitangi Tribunal.
